The purposes of The Historical Society of Sarasota County are to create a public awareness of the rich historical heritage of Sarasota County and the State of Florida, to encourage inquiry and research into this history, to encourage the preservation and collection of artifacts, photographs and printed materials and other memorabilia pertaining to this area, to develop an appreciation of its historical communities and to protect its historic sites and structures. The venue was gorgeous! It is an old Victorian style house and it was decorated for the holidays with wreaths in the windows, trees in the corners, and garland on the banisters. This helped us save money on decorations since our wedding was in December. Even the back yard of the venue made a great place for photographs.

Lower South Grape Creek, Junction, Luckenbach, Meusebach Creek, Williams Creek, and Grapetown Schools will be open for you to tour. Come visit with former students.
